Mics for my Ibanez Rg350mdx

I have an ibanez rg350mdx with maple fretboard and 500k pots...I installed a pair of dimarzio evolution(bridge and neck) and the sound seems too bright...I am thinking of changing the pots to 250k or changing the mics for a tonezone/air norton setup...I play in a band, and we cover everything from nirvana, guns n roses, metallica to incubus, creed, etc...So you can see my type of music is very versatile...So please help me choose wisely:

Changing the pots

Changing the mics to tonezone/air norton

Re: Mics for my Ibanez Rg350mdx

well, changing pots is the cheaper alternative.
definitely try that first if the only reason u are unhappy is because its too bright. If it still doesnt suit your taste, then a pup change would be a good idea.

Ok, but anyone has tried the tonezone/air norton setup on an ibanez solid body with maple fretboard..How is the sound? Is versatile?..Thanks

i have a Steve Special/Air Norton in my RG550 with maple fingerboard.
It sounds pretty darn good to me. I can play anything from metal to pop on that guitar. Maybe not jazz since i cant play jazz in the first place.
But it gives a nice wide range from the SS's clear articulate tones and the warmness of the Air Norton.
