Mid output bridge with high output neck and middle

Howdy folks

What happens if I put a 9.5 humbucker pup at bridge paired with 11.5 hotrails on mid and neck?
Might be a stupid question, but I do not feel like getting another guitar so I get near the sound I want.

So, I am willing to give my Hotrails Squire for modification, but kinda worried the neck and mid would "outgun"
any lower output HB I'd put in the bridge.
OTOH I do not have the feeling I'd get what I want if I put any of the 14-16 output HBs there.
Even if they are Alnico 5s.

For the record, trying to get as close as possible to Angus Young sound out of the guitar and then the
modelling amp will take care of the rest (hopefully).
The hotrails just don't get near there enough so I can set it right. Too much of a "metal sound" I guess.

I don't know if I'd consider the Hot Rails anywhere near the Angus Young sound. You could do what you want, but you'd have to lower the Hot Rails to balance, and I think you still wouldn't get the sound you want I would think a Little 59 would be a better choice in the neck.

I don't know if I'd consider the Hot Rails anywhere near the Angus Young sound. You could do what you want, but you'd have to lower the Hot Rails to balance, and I think you still wouldn't get the sound you want I would think a Little 59 would be a better choice in the neck.

They are not anywhere near, hence the idea about HB in bridge. The Hot Rails are what I got so...
Perhaps some higher output HB at bridge, like the JB (16.6) or the Custom 5 (14.1) would do the job (I am obviously in the dark here)

what bucker are you thinking about for the bridge? full size? the hot rails neck model is around 11k but it isnt super high output. the bridge model is significantly hotter. a fullsize 9.5k bridge humbucker might be just fine depending on what it is

Jeremy, that's another thing I need help with. I am looking for a full size HB yes, but no clue which one would fit the bill.
I am trying to get as close as I can to an SG (or LP) sound (primarily Angus Young type of sound) before I get into the modelling amp.
Generally I know it's impossible due to multitude of variables, but I tried out dozens of (SG and LP type) guitars and the strat neck is what fits me and that's it.
So, just closing the gap is what I want to do now, and then try to get the rest out of the amp.

Frankly, if there was space I'd probably add a 4th PUP to it and be done with it

You are right about the HR PUPs, middle and neck are 11.5K Ohm and the bridge is 22.5K Ohm the pots are 500's
The problem is there is only one volume pot, so any combination of a 9.5HB with the 11.5HRs might just overrun the HB (or at least that is what I am worried about)

I would put that lower output on neck, get another (hotter) pickup for bridge and leave the hot rails in middle. Is that out of question?

I like middle pickup to be hotter as it allows me to screw it lower on pickguard. I think hot rails would be very usable that way too, less searing than bridge, but not "rounded" sounding like neck.

A HSH config...That actually is a good idea and sounds just about right. Thanks!
The remaining question would be which PUPs to get that sound I'm after (can't figure it out from the sound samples given).
I've also been checking out some Iron Gear PUPs, and they seem real good.

As far as what bridge pickup to get- Angus doesn't really use super high output pickups. A slightly boosted PAF-type, like the Whole Lotta Humbucker or Saturday Night Special will get you there. For more $$, there is the High Voltage.
