Middle Duckbucker

Hi All,
Can someone give me some guidance????

Strat. Alder. Rosewood.

so i decided. (too many choices). I am going with the JB Jr in the bridge, Duckbucker in the middle, and lil 59er in the neck.

I know they sell the Everything Axe bundle, but all I can find is white housing - and my strat definitely would not look right with white. So i decided to purchase separately (worth the extra $15).

However, for the middle duckbucker, would I want the Duckbucker to be neck or bridge configuration? planning on standard fender strat 5 way switch wiring.

thanks for any help!

Re: Middle Duckbucker

Thats a tough call. I use a DB between two Vintage Rails, but for what you want, a "bridge" version just might work out better. I said "might". You may have to try this one for yourself, and then tell us. ;)

Either way, you should love it.

Re: Middle Duckbucker

hey are you supposed to use 500k pots for those mini humbickers? the sound of a standard humbucker with 250k sucks...sounds really crappy like a foreign stock pickups with no balls...i know strats use 250k sooo would 500 k work?

Re: Middle Duckbucker

hmm. didnt think of that! Anyone out there provide any commentary as to weather I would need to switch to 500 pot if I go with these pups?
Thanks!

Re: Middle Duckbucker

SC-sized humbuckers are specifically designed to be replacment Strat pups, and thus, be used with 250k pots. They lean towards the bright side for that reason. That doesn't mean that you can't use 500k's with them, if you're looking for a little extra treble.

Re: Middle Duckbucker

Thanks ArtieToo. So I am educated, can you tell me what the difference is between a bridge configuration vs a neck configuration of the same Duckbucker Pickup?

Re: Middle Duckbucker

It will just be wound a bit "hotter". But its a subtle difference. The neck is wound to 5.2k and the bridge to 6k.
