Middle Of Project!!! Need Help!!!

I am in the middle of changing out my stock pickups for a set of Seymour Duncan quarter pound jazz pickups. I have got the wiring diagram squared away, its the mounting of the pickup that I am a little confused on. I have the screws but it seems that something should go under the pickups and I have nothing. The only other thing with them was 4 little pieces of rubber tubing. I am putting them in a Fender MIM Jazz bass. Can someone help me as I am stuck right here until I get some help. Thanks

Place the rubber tubing over the screws. That way, as you tighten the screws, the tubing will compress and the pickup height will be raised.

Jazz as in Jazz bass?

The rubber tubing doesn't do you any good for those pickups.. Cut some foam (you can use the foam that came in the pickup box, but it may not be stiff enough) approx the same size as the pickups and put it under the pickup, to push the pickup out against the screws. The foam acts as a spring.

Sometimes there is some foam in there from the previous pickup....
