Well the Cool Rails is sort of a single coil version of a Jazz, so it would almost be like having a Jazz in the neck & middle. In the end, it depends what you want from a middle pickup.

Well the Jazz is my favorite neck pickup, but don't know if I'd need "another" one in the same guitar, though I know you can coax some good tones out of a middle position, and the split rails would probably sound awesome. The Quarter pounder sound clips sound really cool, it is closer to a humbucker and sounds a bit fatter. and.. I might just try it. I've got some thinking to do

The split Rails doesn't sound quite as good as parallel- those rails are really tiny, and they don't sound anything like a single coil to me. The Quarter Pound has the power of a P90, but sounds squarely like a fatter single coil, not a humbucker.

Based on an online demo I saw on Youtube and the actual Duncan Pickup Selector, I ordered a Classic Stack to go in between my JB and Jazz. Looking forward to seeing how it all works out.
