middle SSL-1 but noiseless or stacked?

I got this set in one of my strats:

neck: yjm fury
middle: ssl-1
bridge: tb-11 + tbx

I love this set, sounds really fender and tawng in my floyd strat.

I love the ssl-1 middle, but thinking about one noiseless or stacked pickup that respect the ssl-1 or fender true sound.

the list could be:

-yjm fury
-stk-s4m
-stk-s6
-stk-s7

I know the stk-s4 should be the "natural" replacement for ssl-1. The yjm fury is awesome in neck position but too dark in middle I guess.

I don´t know about stk-6 or 7 sounds.

?

Stks4 is the noiseless ssl1. Plus you can split it to single coil mode in positions 2&4 for max quack

Re: middle SSL-1 but noiseless or stacked?

+1

I'm not familiar with the STK-S7, but the STK-S6 is essentially a stacked SSL-5 which is probably a bit too hot to balance in the middle position with your other pickups.

Re: middle SSL-1 but noiseless or stacked?

Thanks guys...

So, stk-s4 and stk-s6 would be stacked versions of ssl-1 and ssl-5, isn´t it?

then as dystrust said maybe stk-s6 would be too high gained to middle position. As I remember stk-s6/ssl-5 runs well for gilmourist sounds in bridge and neck positions.

so the stk-s7 should be a next step gain pickup, isn´t it?

If so, I center my view on stk-s4 and stk-s6 for now...

Re: middle SSL-1 but noiseless or stacked?

SSL-5 would be Gilmour's bridge, neck has been various 50's and 60's style pickups.

Conceivably the STK-S7 (Vintage Hot SP) is hotter than the STK-S4 (Classic SP) but not as hot as the STK-S6 (Custom SP) the X-Factor is the STK-S4b (Classic SP - Bridge) The tone chart shows it as hotter than the vintage hot, but I'm not sure that's the case. Either way you have two noiseless options between the Classic Stack and Custom Stack.

In supposed order:
STK-S4
STK-S7
STK-S4b
STK-S6
STK-S9

My guess would be the STK-S4, which is an excellent quiet pickup. In fact, I prefer it to most actual single coils. It can get quacky, indeed!

Re: middle SSL-1 but noiseless or stacked?

finally the yjm fury is coming for middle place...

the ssl-1 or stacked stk-s4 version is a great pickup, but runs underwear with the yjm at neck and tb-11 at bridge...almost tbx is great for cc but not for middle...

Agree, auto split for max qack but stacked middle should be a rwrp to be noise canceling too :) with the YJM neck and HB in bridge. Actually, SSL1 middle noise canceling if using autsplit already.

Re: middle SSL-1 but noiseless or stacked?

I don´t know anything about wiring...I´m a "brutus neardenthal" for those questions...LOL...

but I still have ears, the ssl-1 and complete wiring of my strat proyect is bad...it´s not seems to be a good work...

for guitar and amp seems to be quiet, but for studio or pc works the noise is trully awesome hell...jejeje...

my other strat, with lace sensors doesn´t make those noises in front of my pc...

So I´m scared about a bad wiring and almost my ears said that ssl-1 or stk-s4 runs, as I said before, underwear with the yjm at neck and cc at bridge...

so I think that another yjm should be a good replace...I really love the strat sound of yjm at neck...that´s awesome to play blackmore, gilmour or malmsteen sounds...but ssl-1 at middle left me hung with the others...

Re: middle SSL-1 but noiseless or stacked?

The YJM would be a great choice too. If noise is a problem, the stacks are a good choice- choose your output level to balance with your current pickups, and enjoy. If you get into trouble when wiring it up, don't hesitate to come back and ask questions (provide pics too). Many people here are great at helping other members through the process.

Re: middle SSL-1 but noiseless or stacked?

thanks you all.

stk-s10 for middle is arrived at home yet.

I get a dude with the wiring diagram that comes with the yjm that shows that:

and the seymour duncan wirint at support for stack plus:

3STKplus_5W_1V_2T.jpg

the bridge pickup will be one cc trembucker.

But in one diagram whites wires goes to 5 way switch and red wires get taped on... and in the other black wires gone to 5 way switch and red and with taped on together....

What should be the correctly wiring?

thanks...
