btw im using cubase on a pc

Re: MIDI VSTi

ORGAN - Native Instruments B4
PAD - Spectrasonics Omnisphere
ORCHESTRAL - Miroslav Vitous library (Can't remember brand name, sorry.)

Re: MIDI VSTi

These are three very nice orchestral VSTi's:
EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold
Vienna Symponic Library Special Edition
Steinberg HALion Symphonic Orchestra

Pads:
Omnisphere has already been mentioned. Excellent VSTi synth...well worth the price tag.

Piano: I've heard good things about Ivory, but never tried it myself. Truepianos is a very impressive piano synth (rather than a sample library). It's not too terribly expensive and it sounds very convincing.

What version of cubase are you running? SX3 has a very nice built-in synth called "a1".

I also recommend checking out "Tapeworm", which is a free mellotron VSTi. It's free, it sounds good, can't ask for much more ;).

Re: MIDI VSTi

a great free vst instrument is Crystal. it is a synthesizer, so you will be tweaking synth patches as opposed to a sample-based selection of organ, strings, etc. but it is free and it is great, and can give you a lot of different sounds.
