Might have been the best guitar I've ever played...

So last night I was at a jam session in a local pub. I often take my own guitar but I went straight from work so just used th eorganisers axe.

WOW.

He had borrowed it from a friend so it was the first time I'd seen it and I have to say the playability of this thing is incredible. I would later find out that it is a Modern Player's Telecaster and it only costs £400!!!

Might be one of those personal things, fit my fingers or whatever but the guitar pretty much played itself!! For those of you who don't know the guitar, its pretty much a tele with a humbucker in the bridge, strat single coil in the middle and classic lipstick-style tele in the neck. 5-way switch and even a humbucker split switch. The neck is heavenly, my hands were just gliding up and down effortlessly. And it looked stunning aswell in a honeyburst with black scratch plate, maple fingerboard.

Just last week I tried out a £2200 custom shop strat in the local store and I have to say.. I honestly prefered the beginner's tele! And I'm not even into teles!

Anyone have any experience and opinions with this guitar to share?

Highly recommend!!!

Yeah its a great guitar- I tend to go more bright in the bridge and dark in the neck, but it really is well balanced and proof that quality and innovation do not require big bucks;)

Played one with a set of P9O's through an AC15 combo. Best sound I've ever heard from a Tele.

Hmm... Everytime I try one I end up disappointed...

It looks good.

For me a Tele is all about the bridge pickup. Can you just slap a Tele bridge and pickup or you have to stick with humbucker because of the routing?

No idea man! Although the bridge is different o a normal tele bridge (looks more like a blocked off strat trem bridge). But I recon if fit a classic tele bridge it would be fin cos they include the routing for the bridge pup of course. Maybe need to drill a couple of holes
