MIJ Squier Series early 90s

What kind of guitars are these, the building quality and hardware should be good, right? And what are these worth in about mint condition ? There's one for sale, 390 € with a hard case. I've been looking for a Strat for a while and this looks like a good deal.

I have a 93 / 94 Japanese Squier Strat in Lake Placid Blue and really like it.

The stock pickups weren't very good, but it's now got a set of Bareknuckle Apaches (50s style) pickups in it and it's my most used Strat at the minute.

I stupidly routed mine out and used it as a frankenstrat mod platform. I got a 1986 used for about $300 back in 1996. I didn't like the small vintage style frets, and I tore the threads out of the trem block. But it was a very solid guitar, very well made, except the electronics weren't too good. My hands also couldn't get used to the profile of the neck after using a Les Paul for years.

I've seen them still in the $400 range

Re: MIJ Squier Series early 90s

I got a 80's MIJ Squier and case for 125 euro a couple of years ago and its a really solid guitar. Pickups weren't great but I put in a set SSL-1 and its as good as any strat I've played.

As for 90's Squiers I've had a couple of 93/94's and they were both well built but had plywood bodies. So this is something to check out as 390 euro is alot of money to spend on a plywood guitar! 390 seems a bit on the high side for a Squier in the UK that sort of money would buy me a regular MIJ strat but this may not be the same in Finland.

I always associate that colour way with a 70's style guitar
