having the worst time with my mim jazz bass and noise i was crazy a while back and put a 500 instead of the 250 since its all i had to replace a volume but the thing has always been somewhat noisy.im looking at some good wiring kits with the orange caps and cts pots to replace but ill still have to keep the horrible stock pickups until i get more spare cash or trade something for new pickups any ideas on how to get around this quickly since i have to record this weekend?

Check your solder spots ect..
I had the same problems with my mim jazz..
I just took her all apart and re-wired everything with all the stock wires.. It was as silent as it gets after I was done..
The MIM's are pretty good quality, but not the best. So there's bound to be something wrong with it after a while, and you'll have to keep up maintenence until you can get better pups etc..
I don't know enough about pots to help you out there. Someone here will have the answer.
