Does anybody know if a fender mim standard strat sss is routed for a humbucker in the bridge? Only reason I ask is Im taking a trip up to Guitar Center and I think its more likely Ill find the color/neck type I want in sss than HSS, and I want a the option for a humbucker.

THanks

Re: MIM Strat ROute

As far as I know, the new MIA Strats have the H-S-H routing from the factory. Not sure about the Mexicans, though. Sorry.

Re: MIM Strat ROute

My Squier strat is routed HSH and my Tele neck is routed for a bucker (not sure about the bridge as I haven't taken it off yet). I think there's a really good chance that all Strats, with the exception of re-issues, features HSH routing as it allows Fender to use those bodies for any strat they want.

What colour do you have in mind for a Strat? Personally I'd suggest Black (with a black or black moto pickguard), Sunburst (and throw on a red pearl or tortoise shell), or Surf Green (possibly the best looking colour for a Strat).

I am gonna get black with a maple neck and get a black pickguard.

Hmmmmmmm, an Edge Strat!! Except his was 3 s/c. Wait, you can get black HSS strats with black pickguards.

Re: MIM Strat ROute

I ended up getting an arctic white HSS that caught my eye and played really well, and I got a good deal on it.

Re: MIM Strat ROute

My personal favorite Strat color combo is sunburst or natural with a black pickguard and maple fretboard...
