Can anybody tell me if I can replace a gibson/epi mini humbucker with a single coil p90???? Are they the same size, or better yet, is there one that is the same size???

Thanks

The P-90's will fit in a mini 'bucker route. What kind of guitar is it?

Its an Epiphone USA(japan) Sheraton. The mini-hums are pretty cool, but I think it might sound cooler with p90's. Thanks for the reply.

Yep.. Gibson mini-hums and P-90s are exactly the same size. I just replaced the mini hums on my LP Deluxe with some duncan P-90s. No problem at all.
You can mount them by screwing directly into the wood (as I did) or use the mini-hum mounting plates.

I think some early 70's SGs had different, "squared" mini hums that may not be as easilly replacable - also not 100% sure about all Firebirds, but i know it works for the Les Pauls (Special, Deluxe).

ummm...no plate in a Sheraton; all hollow. Unless the new Epi version has a center block...? Otherwise, it's a mini mounted in a ring like a large HB or a Guild HB, different from the LP Deluxe mini's. Rout is the same size, but mounting is a different story...might have to go with dogears.

Re: mini humbucker replacement

Sheratons always have had blocks. You're thinking of the Casino or Riviera.
