mini humbuckers

How do I mount a mini humbucker in a normal sized humbucker slot? any help would be freakin rad.

You can't. At least, not without extensive mods. What kind of guitar do you plan on putting it in?

What guitar is it going on and what model of Mini do you have? If you buy a new set of Duncan Minis they have the threaded adjustment screws for mounting into pickguards.... Gibsons Minis come with the rings around them and are meant to be installed in a P90 style route and will not fit in a normally humbucker route....

If you have a Duncan set, your mini will screw into a full size humbucker ring or pickguard but have space on either side of the Pickup. I have seen guys take a piece of pickguard plastic and make their own humbucker rings that fit the screw holes of a Gibson style hubucker ring but have a smaller hole for the minis..... I'm thinking of doing this to an Epi Les Paul i own.. Cut special humbucker rings to fit Duncans Minis... That may get me closer to the sound Pete got in the 70's but on a real budget...

FWIW, there are New York Style minis in the Antiquity line.

If the mini has threaded holes in the feet, you can bend the mini's feet outward slightly (~0.1" combined) to match the standard HB mounting screw holes. To fix the cosmetic issue you can either make a new pickup ring or add a full size HB cover (though you probably do not want to take the cover off a mini unless you want to have all of it's parts loose on your bench...)

Who's using the term "New York" when referring to Gibson's mini-hums? That's a recipe for confusion- the Gibson mini was intended to replace the Epiphone "New York" pickup after Gibson acquired the Epiphone name.

The mini's that Gibson put into their LP Deluxe models were left over New Yorks from when they acquired Epi. All Gibson did was make new mounting rings.

There are Epiphone Mini's and Firebird pickups...both are different and FWIW, Duncan offers both, as does Lollar, as does Gibson. Bare Knuckles also offers a Epi mini, and I belive that DiMarzio offers a Firebird style pup.
