Mini hums in a humbucker ring

Considering a set of mini-hums. I've seen the conversion rings. But why wouldn't mini-hums fit in regular humbucker rings? The only dimension I see being a problem is the mounting hole width for the mini-hum is 1/8" narrower than the regular hum. Has anybody done this?

ive done it, and they fit, but there is a good size gap on both sides since the mini is like 1" and a bucker is 1.45" and the mounting screws are at a bit of an angle

You can find full sized rings with a mini-hum hole online...

I bought the adapter plates from Mlaval and super-glued them to the top of the humbucker ring. Then sanded the edges and drilled the 4 mounting holes.

I cut my own adapters out of an old pickguard with a lot of work using small hand files. The style can look out of place, so I think metal ones are probably better.

It's like my clothes when I dropped 80 pounds: there'd be a huge gap.
