Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

This is an absolutely killer backing track, but there's some kind of corruption near the last minute of the file. I'm going to try downloading it again, then I'll try to come up with something again tomorrow.

If its still corrupted, I can just fade out the end. ;)

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

Let me try and upload it over again... the version I have on my PC is fine. I'll delete the current one and post a whole new link.

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

Ok, I re-uploaded the track and updated the URL in my first post. Would someone be kind enough to check it out and make sure it works ok for someone other than myself? Thanks :).

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

The second time seems to be better. Still one teeny glitch right in the middle, but that might be me - not you.

So anyway, I tried to play a little something to go with it. This jam is way beyond my skill level, but its a blast to jam to, so I tried to just play along.

This is me just using the side of my thumb, on my Predator, with both the 59 and the C5 on together. (Into the Yamaha effects unit>J-Station>mixer>Adobe Audition.)

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

Very nice take man, I like the use of a clean tone here. You seemed to hit those changes without skipping a beat :). I really like it when you came in with the octaves around 2:30-2:40. Nicely done!

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

Hey, jazbrokr! I didn't know you poked around these parts, glad to see you here as well. The only problem is, no one is going to want to play after you show us all up so early on haha ;). Don't let Scott tell you any different guys, he's a monster of a player and a nice guy to boot!

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

Ok now were talking - Artie and Scott, this was some nice stuff, really enjoyed listening to all of it - I'm a sucker for minor blues stuff all the way.

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

thats an awesome backing track. Where do you find this stuff?.. I'll throw my take on ithis tomorrow for sure and post back here.

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

There's a guy over on the Electric forum at guitar.com that goes by the handle Normster who has a knack for finding great backings :). I've just decided I'll start posting the links here as well to provide some jam material.

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

I'll try and lay down a take this week sometime, give you guys some comic relief :).

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

scottl; Very nice take on this. You had a definite "Steely Dan" vibe going there. Really changed the nature of the tune from my version. I loved it. :)

Fretwire; thanks for the thanks. ;) Those "octaves" thing are something I'm just starting to learn. They're a bit tough to reach right now, but I'm trying. :laugh2:

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

ARGH!!!

Does anyone know how to sort out my PC?? I installed real player a few days ago, and it messed up, and it changed all the file associations to real player. So this track downloaded with a real player icon instead of (what should be the default winamp icon). I have set winamp as the default player again, and have uninstalled real player

I don't know what this is, but I tried to import it into cubase and it says it's an invalid type!

Same goes for any track I download off the net, it has a realplayer icon!!!

I'm getting really frustrated!!! *shakes fists at pc*

Btw, the file plays in winamp (which is also wierd) - I read your chord structure wrong - I thought you meant two verses of Dm so my first jam over the track went horribly wrong :laugh2:

It's an .mp3 file... as long as you go into Winamp and set the file associations from within the program I'd assume it would change any appropriate icons back. I haven't used winamp in ages though, I'm an iTunes guy :) (it's just easier with the iPod)

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

I've done that already :/

The weird thing is, the file icon is a real player one, but when I double click, it opens in winamp - really weird :S

Re: Minor Blues backing for you guys :)

That is weird, the association is changed but the icon hasn't haha. You can change the icon to look however you want in reality, programs just do that automatically to their logo for simplicity.
