Mistake...Peavey Valveking 112

Re: Mistake...Peavey Valveking 112

I use the Valveking Head and when i step on the boost there is a tonal difference. it gives it a more crunchy modern kinda feel. im presently trying to tweak my zakk wylde overdrive pedal to run with it so i dont have to use the boost.

With the active guitars ive played through the VK, it really is a nice amp with great distortion. But it sounds aweful with most passive pickups and requires alot of tweaking. The boost is amazing with the actives though, I don't know what guitars you guys were playing through it or style but it friggin rocked with that on when I played it.

As someone who has owned both the MG50 and the valveking combo... I say keep playin' the marshall for a while and save up some more to buy a Better tube amp (better than the valveking...)

Re: Mistake...Peavey Valveking 112

I've had a few experiences with the MG50 and it's actually a pretty great amp for it's price point. The only thing that I would possibly consider also in that range and SS is the Peavey Bandit.
