Mix EMGs and Blackouts?

...for example an EMG89 as neck PU and a AHB-1N as bridge?
Will it work?

By the way, how does an AHB-1N sound as a bridge PU? Compared to an EMG85?

Re: Mix EMGs and Blackouts?

Since Blackouts are drop-in replacements for EMGs(just hook them up using the existing quick connect) there should be no problem mxing them. Pot values are the same, connection wires are the same and they need the same power

I use the BO neck pups in the bridge because i like the sound of the Alnico appose to the ceramic. And right now i'm using a EMG 60 and a 85 in the necks for know til seymour starts shipppning the Livewire classic II's for the neck and those are alnico as well.

Just my 2 cents.:approve:

I'm also using the BO neck in the bridge and I love it. Thick, meaty, chewy, organic, but still has good articulation. Its a winnah!!!

I use an EMG85 and BO-Bridge model in my Jackson V. Works great and sounds heavy. Just thick and in your face.
