Other than our own StratDeluxer's mods, does anyone have experience with either the Keeley or the Analogman modded TS-9's?

Thanks!

Re: Modded TS-9 Pedals

It just doesn't get any better or smoother than Johns. He's the man!!
See for yourself.

Re: Modded TS-9 Pedals

I`ve only read reviews on Keeley and Analog man at Harmony Central and most of them are positive . I had them mod my SD-1 which is great but I didn`t care for the mods I had them do to my ProCo Rat. John(Stratdeluxer) modded my TS-9 and it sounded so good with my nephews Strat , Blues Jr. combo I gave it to him , aren`t I a nice uncle!

Re: Modded TS-9 Pedals

dont make me gas for a Stradeluxer modded TS before i get my valve amp or i'll kill you all

Re: Modded TS-9 Pedals

Thanks guys...I just did an 808 reissue for 59Paul...He's not going to be using his other stock 808s once he gets this 808...Sounded so fat and had alot of sustain and more gain..I can hardly wait until he gets to play through the pedal...

Thanks Lou...Keeley and Analogman do great work and they are both great guys..I think it boils down to the prices on the mods...Those guys make a living doing what they do..For me it's just a fun hobby...I'm just as happy doing no mods, but either way is cool as long as it makes somebody else happy...

John/59 Paul,

If you don't want that spare 808 I am happy to take it off your hands and for John to do the mod for me. Would this be feasible/possible?. Let me know guys and I'll arrange something with the both of you.

The Keeley TS-9 with an old 80's JRC4558D sounds amazing!

MRID buddy....Of course you do know that there's alot more to the mods then just the chip change, right? :13:

Of course, but the chip change is the icing on the cake for me! :laugh2:

Try the TI RC4558P chip also if you haven't already buddy....

I've done alot of listening between the early 4558D chips and the current ones...Oddly enough in blindfold tests done with my other guitar buddy,we don't hear a difference...It's a placebo effect and a hype to get the modders to sell you a pedal mod..You don't have to take my word for it,but it is fact... I save the early 4558D chips for my own pedals now, simply because I'm down to like only 3 or 4 until I find an old radio loaded with em..

Well, I know I hear SOMETHING different between the TI and JRC chips! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: The TI chip seems brighter with (possibly) a slightly scooped midrange, while The JRC seems to have the top end rolled off, with thicker mids.

Yep...Exactly...The TI chip allows a gainier pedal to articulate notes better and it's my preferred chip in my SD1 mods..The JRC chip is darker but beefier..You nailed it MRID!

Re: Modded TS-9 Pedals

just a question.. those TS-9 pedals are the green ibanez ones right?

i'll try to get one as i'm looking for a more.. less modern compressed tone.. more like an natural overdrive type of thing. like a hot rod amp thingy.. if i get it, i'll get ahold of you john and we'll have a talk out it

The proper name is a Maxon - Ibanez just put their name on it. So look out for the Maxon OD-9 and OD-808 (and yes they are green) do a search on e-bay for both Maxon & Ibanez.

Re: Modded TS-9 Pedals

I use both of the Keeley modded pillows. I used the Baked mod as a boost for the Plus mod which intern boosts the signal to the pre amp. Most aplications I don't boost the Plus mod unless I am using my Plexi module. The sound is just unreal when I do. Good luck!
