Modelers anyone?

Re: Modelers anyone?

I've used a Roland Cube 60 for years, gigged the crap out of it. Not much customization but sometimes I think that's a good thing.
Good enough for me.

I also use a Pocket POD very often. Only worthy amp models for what I play are the modern Marshall sounds. They clean up extremely well with a bit of compression in front. The Rectifier model is terrible.
I tried setting the POD as a preamp for clean sounds and using a dirt pedal in front... nope.
No matter how you set it, it sounds tiny that way. It likes a clean guitar input from the front and nothing else.

I was thinking about getting a pocket pod around Christmas, sounds like it wouldn't be worth it. Would you say?

Absolutely worth it if you stick to getting dirt from it.
It's an extremely convenient unit. Easy to tweak from the computer.

I recommend it 100% man.

Pocket Pod is a great little piece of kit. Best-sounding thing I've tried that clips on a guitar strap and drives headphones. When you plug into a computer and run the software, you get access to all the parameters beyond what the buttons and knobs give you.
