Modern Player Tele

Happy Easter everyone. I have someone who wants to trade a Modern Player Tele (This pickup style: https://www.google.com/shopping/pro...0Hg&ei=O3UhVfTLK8PRsAXTx4DwAg&ved=0CHQQpiswAA ) for my Epiphone Es-335 PRO. Now if this was a regular Tele, I would be jumping all over it, but I've never had a Tele before, and I've never even played one with a humbucker. Honestly I've been trying to trade for something equipped with p90s, but I've also always wanted a Tele. My question is, how do you guys feel about HSS telecasters? What about the "modern player" series in general? My gut is telling me I should hold off for p90s, but the again, like I said, I've always wanted a Tele.

That thing has a telecaster body, but isn't really a telecaster. The best part of a telecaster is the beefy single coil bridge. I'd stick with the epi, but am partial to 335s myself.

I prefer my Teles to be SH.

I haven't generally gotten along with Teles with bridge humbuckers for some reason... Maybe that's because I have so many guitars with humbuckers otherwise that I figure a Tele should do what a Tele does.

I've liked the modern player tele's that i've played. But really not a "telecaster" They are pretty sweet guitars. If you can play it first, just go with your gut.
