Mods to the Tone Zone ?

Hi
I have two Tone Zones sitting around & I have been thinking of installing one into a Bright sounding Les Paul.

Im concerned that its going to sound too muddy so Im wondering if there are any mods to maybe tame the Bass & a little top end as well.
Would a ceramic magnet make it closer to the Super Distortion ?

Im looking for a tight crunchy rock tone , fat sounding but not boomy or muddy with some warm mids & sweeter top end , dont mind if it is a bit compressed either

for the tone you want just swap out the TZ's stock A5 for a ceramic and

Re: Mods to the Tone Zone ?

So will the ceramic magnet will give less bass (tighter) and less top end ?

Other thing is I have a Duncan Distortion that I found a bit too bright & a bit too powerfull in the Bass.

Would replacing the current volume pot (either 300 or 500K ) knock some bass off ?

Can't knock off the bass with just a vol pot change. Greatest effect is in the treble.

yes the ceramic makes the TZ have a much tighter bass. changing the pot wont help because bass is not effected by potentiometers just the highs and output.

Ok thanks for that info
Does anyone have an idea of what can be done to make the Tone Zone closer sounding to the old Double Whammy

Tone Zone at Bass-8 Mids-8 treble-5
Double whammy Bass-5 Mids-9 Treble-4

I think a Tone zone would sound good at about
B-6 M-8 t-4
