mojo risin'

Re: mojo risin'

Cool SG.

That's a wrap around type bridge, like the one that came on my early '60s Epi Melody Maker. I used my Epi's wrap bridge for a tailpiece on my Les Paul for about 20 years.

I wonder what holds it in in place on that SG. I would think that without the strings wrapping, that it'd just be loose.

I had one oof those once in cherry red. Paid 180 bucks for it in 1989. I think mine may of been the one p90. Very fat sounding if i recall. Thats what impressed me most. Fat , and really cut. I got rid of it cause the stupid thing took a nosedive the minute i let go of the neck. Thats also why I got rid of my US Hammer explorer, but i would give anything to have that Hammer back.

Re: mojo risin'

I was in a band a while back and the other guitar player had a P-90 fetish...he had a 65 SG Special...just like that one, cheep whammy and all but it was Cherry Red...very Pete Townsend...he never played it so I did everytime I got the chance...it was a killer slide guitar and had a wonderful raw grunty tone for rock and roll rhythm parts...great guitar!

Re: mojo risin'

I had a cherry red 66 it was a nice guitar but it had a very funky neck. I very thin width and a very deep U shape. Still it was pretty cool, snapped the headstock on its first gig, oh well it wasn't a keeper anyway.
