Monitors and Balanced Inputs

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on some powered monitors for my Powerbook (probably some Behringer Truths). The monitors have a balanced input, but my Powerbook headphone jack isn't balanced (miniheadphone to 1/4 inch splitter). Will this be a problem?

Matt; it won't be a problem. When you connect a 1/4" mono plug to the Behringers 1/4" TRS input, you will automatically make the shield/ring connection.

The Behringer owners manual shows it this way.

Thanks Artie! I think something must have been lost in translation in the manual. At one point they say "don't", but in the following paragraph they say "well, maybe".

Matt, which model "Truth's" do you have. I just want to double check what they're talking about.

But, regardless, there shouldn't be a problem.
