Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

Like the noble TurDuckEn, this one's a bird in a bird in a bird -
behold the ominously glowing visage of the Phantom Skull !!!

Should be the first song on our myspace - linked above or from my sig.

This is an instrumental pre-production version of a song that will be on our full-length album due next year. We're currently using this as the set-closer for our live shows.

Be advised, this song is like old-school Metallica turkey wrapped in Black Sabbath bacon and drizzled with Carcass sauce, caught fire in the oven. Hope you've got insurance. Holiday dinner is coming from Boston Market this year but at least your ears are bleeding! :)

Comments, questions, pats on the back, psychological validation, and yo momma jokes are welcomed.

Re: Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

Holiday bump.

Have a good long weekend, fellas. Say "hi" to your moms for me!

Re: Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

Hahahah. That was fun! Some great stuff there...The mood changing and the rythm behind the first solo is just amazing! The double bass ,bass guitar bridge is cool too!.Dig it!
Great work!

Re: Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

Thanks man! I'm really glad you dug the solo break. I love changing up rhythms and parts under leads - it's such an effective way to get some "motion" into the composition.

Cheers!

Re: Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

Dude, that would be the perfect soundtrack to any Road Rash game.

I would take that as an extremely flattering comment. :D

Love the mood change at 1:10, and then the sick ass harmonies at 1:22...

Re: Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

Oh yeah road rash rules hahahah.Everytime i think about it ,the picture of "BUSTED" ,a cop ,and a latex glove flashes in my head LOL :D

That is awesome. I remember the first two Road Rash games on Sega Genesis - I always loved getting far enough to afford the Ferrari bike. The Diablo was the fastest, but I couldn't control the thing!

I do take that as high praise - the golden age of console gaming (NES, Genesis, SNES years) were chock full of really good music.

You should check out Horse the Band - they've kind of built their sound around old-school console gaming. Great stuff.

Vocals will be on the album version - we take a pretty esoteric approach to vocals (as you may know) but that song is definitely one that could use them.

Re: Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

That sounds awsome dude. How do I get a cd?

Right now all the songs on our Myspace are free for download, so knock yourself out! :) We'll have a proper CD with updated songs, vocals, and professional recording standards (hint: real amps!) some after this February.

Re: Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

All this talk of videogames made me picture this song over the very first Mario game on NES. That would get me so pumped, man.

You shoulda done some tunes for the SNES Battletoads in Battlemaniacs!

Re: Monolithic Stoner Thrash Turkeypuke

I've been listening to your stuff on and off all day, looking forward to some pro recordings.
