I installed the regular GE-7 mod ( http://www.monteallums.com/pedal_mods.html#bossge7 ) on my my Boss GE-7 Equalizer.
MAJOR improvement. It's a much nicer pedal now.
-way less noise and hiss - I might not even need my Boss noise suppressor pedal anymore
-highs shimmer more
-mids are much more lively
-bass is tightened up but still very full and hi-fi sounding
-note and string separation are dramatically improved - it actually provides better separation than when the pedal is off and the signal is going straight to my amp
If you're handy with a soldering iron and aren't afraid of soldering to PCBs, then you should definitely consider a Monte Allums mod. They're fairly easy to install (some moreso than others), and the tonal improvement is immense.
