Mooer Shimverb

My newest amp has no reverb and is probably the driest sounding amp I have ever played so I need a verb pedal.. is the shimverb good or should I look elsewhere for accurate spring reverb emulation that sounds like an amps reverb not a pedal

Re: Mooer Shimverb

TC Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb. Sounds amazing and is super flexible. Plus you can download settings that are superb.

Re: Mooer Shimverb

If you want natural, amp sounding (spring) reverb, the Mooer won't cut it. It only does shimmer verb (reverb with octave up on the tails). I'd look into the Hardwire Supernatural - among its multiple modes, the spring and plate modes are widely considered to be at the level of the other more expensive reverbs (Strymon, Neunaber, etc). Plus, it also has some other cool features, but I was convinced by those videos alone.

Re: Mooer Shimverb

thanks I'll check out the supernatural... I wanted to keep it on the cheap so I could get a Stone Deaf PDF-1 too but I guess the stone deaf will have to wait... I miss reverb!

Re: Mooer Shimverb

Ha! ok I just listened to the PGS demo for the Hall Of fame and WOW... when he plays that buddy guy tune Baby Please Don't Leave Me at the end it sold me on it

Re: Mooer Shimverb

I had a hall of fame for a while. I couldn't get any natural spring reverb tones I liked out of it which sucked. The plate setting is pretty cool.

Re: Mooer Shimverb

I can't justify buying a reverb pedal that expensive!!! I'm usually buying in the 100-200 range and the same goes for this reverb, I know there are accurate reverb pedals In that price range

You can get a Flint for $250 or less used, and it's both reverb and tremolo. Not bad if you ask me, especially since it sounds great.

Re: Mooer Shimverb

An EH Holy Grail used. I get a lot of use out of mine, using it in front or in an FX loop. I probably paid around $60 for it.

Re: Mooer Shimverb

Actually, it does Room, Spring and Shimmer. ]

i found the room and spring to sound really bad on the shimverb. the shimmer was the only mode worth a listen imo. and even then you'd be better off with a hall of fame.

Re: Mooer Shimverb

Hall of Fame/Trinity are great...so is the Supernatural.

If you're looking specifically for spring...check out the Mad Professor Silver Spring!

Re: Mooer Shimverb

I tried the Shimverb and also thought it sounded pretty crap overall. A very cold sounding pedal, the EQ in the verb isn't set right.
Mooer has lots of awesome pedals, but this one isn't very good IMO.

Re: Mooer Shimverb

The Mooer Shimverb has a slight volume drop, which I did not like. The Hall of Fame is way better, minus the Shimmer.
