I'd just try it before you buy it. I was one of the many HOF owners that was unsatisfied with the more utilitarian modes.

How about the Boss RV-5 ? my friend uses one and it sounded pretty good for adding the airiness to the sound

The RV-5 is all about the modulated mode. If you're looking for spring, I'd probably look elsewhere. Maybe the Boss FRV-1?

i tried out a mooer when a friend brough his collection of mooer pedals over. I thought the sounds sucked apart from the "shim" setting, but that was nothing special either. Maybe im spolied on real spring reverbs tho.
