"More Human Than Human" tone with Vox Tonelab LE?

I haven't had too much time to mess with this lately, and we're going to do White Zombie's More Human Than Human. Can this tone be coaxed out of this box, or do I need some kind of outboard distortion? The LE (the silver one) isn't really known for its more hardcore metal tones as it is for classic rock and metal stuff I believe. Anyone do this? At the moment I was going to use my Mesa Boogie patch with either a Les Paul/Super Distortion bridge or Les Paul/A2P bridge. All together, what will get me close without spending hours messing with the unit. Thanks bros!

Probably something like Recto/Tubescreamer/G12T-75 cab.

J used 2 or 3 amps together on that track and double tracked it a few times to get the big thick guitar sound...not sure you'll get all that close not in a recording studio and w/o multiple amps but pick something with the biggest most gained up sound and start there...At that time J was into Mesa Triple recto amps, SS Randall amps and Marshall Valvestate amps...

You can get very similar sounds with these:

- Valvestate 8080 (into a separate cab) or VS100

- Randall Century200 with EQ pedal

- Korg G1 "mode4" into some old clean and smooth tube amp (like a Selmer T'n'B) that dampens the sound a little, the right way

G12T-75 cab

+1

I find it awesome that while TGWIF comes across very 'vintage like'... He still knows stuff about some 'newish' stuff... Shows that good tunes is good tunes!

I got a great tone for that tune using the Mesa patch with one of the distortion boxes and my SG with the Brobucker. Used a LOT less distortion than I thought I would need as well. Good call TGWIF.
