I would've prefered a slightly crisper tone; more snap, I think, for that crazy chicken pickin stuff ...
Reminded me of Alvin Lee, Chet Atkins, etc ...

I'm right with ya man. I still haven't had the time to perfect that tone I'm looking for with the XT. My little Carvin tube amp sounds like a Dr. Z Mazeratti, so that's what I'm going fer. The Brad Paisley sound.

very sweet playin' ... nice tones too .. i am so intimidated by that tele slayin' ... s'why i bought one ... i really want to be able to play that kinda stuff

is that a variax banjo? a 6 string 'guitar-tuned' banjo? or a regular banjo?

Or you can use the GK2A/VG88 combo; tho that'll run you about double the price, I think ...

yeah, i already have a GK equipped axe (brian moore i88.13 w/gr-33 synth), but scratchin' up the $$ for a gk splitter box and a vg88 hasnt happened yet

would be fun though! ... maybe i'll treat myself to it someday after i earn it by learnin' to play like that :D

I have the 4-way splitter box; it's great if you have multiple Roland devices. It even comes with a couple of jumpers (or it did, at any rate) ... ie, very short GK cables. I have one cable going to the GR 30 and the over to the VG 88.
