More lows than a Duncan Distortion?

I have Duncan Distortion in the bridge position of an Alder Warmoth VW body and I don't have enough lows. How about a Duncan Custom? I have one of those I could throw in but I don't want to go through the hassle if that wouldn't do the trick. What do you think?

Thanks!

Ditto Robert.

alternatively, boost your bass with an EQ pedal. i have the Invader in a mahagony body, it balances up real well with the inherent body midrange. don't ecpect ommaculate cleans with this one... :)

Re: More lows than a Duncan Distortion?

I just put in an Invader. Still not quite the lows that I was hoping for but good enough to gig with now. Dang, that thing is knarly sounding ain't it? Sounds like a chainsaw! That'll make for an aggressive 3rd set, he-he.

Thanks for the advice!

I would think a Dime or Invader would be what your looking for.

Not enought Lows In An INvader??

I think what you need my friend is an eq pedal..

What amp are you using?

Re: More lows than a Duncan Distortion?

more lows.. get a mahagony les paul with a mahagony neck and rosewood fretboard, put the invader in both positions, the EQ on your bass should look like this: bass 10, mids 5 heights 0.. and play rythm with the neck pup

mud city

if thats not enough bass then really consider getting a bass guitar..

Yeah, funny.

In fact, I am trying to get closer in tone to my Mahogany LP. Using a Vox AD120VTX Combo. Great sound but I'm thinking I need to slide a 4X12 cab underneth to get my chunk happening.

as much as i know, vox amps are usualy on the brighter side

If I go from an Invader to a Custom, do I lose gain? Is it just a tad clearer?
