I thought I covered most of it, what is it that you feel is still missing/unanswered about pole removal in the replies already given?

how many times should we let him berate other members? name calling is ok? personal attacks? nasty pms? he flamed out. im over it, you should be too.

ill politely say we dont owe anyone anything. people can bite bats heads off, thats not against the rules, although i think they might get in trouble since there have been a lot of protections given to bats recently due to the die off resulting from the white nose syndrome.

as frank said, what else would you like to know?

Re: More on Micawber--Help me dismantle my pickup?

Calling names, bashing moderators. This behavior reminds me of someone else...

Outside of 2 threads in the off-topic section, Knucklhead has only come out of hiding to comment in Leevc5's and The Convert's threads over the past few months.

Is this pure coincidence or am I just being paranoid?
:scratchch

Thanks, but I still need you to tell me which facts you think are missing from what we've covered here so far. Tele pickups are wound directly on the poles, even if there's a tape insulation layer. The high and low poles are bearing the winding tension. Removing either of those, even if you could do it without breaking inner coil wire, destroys the integrity of the coil. Can't think of anything else we're missing.

Re: More on Micawber--Help me dismantle my pickup?

Re: More on Micawber--Help me dismantle my pickup?

Occam's Razor IMO. You can see it's not hollow, and it can't be all skin cells and cigarette ash LOL

this is quite obviously a joke. even has LOL in there in case he wasnt sure.

Jesus F'ing Christ, Frank!

I didn't come here for a debate. I didn't come here for everyone's perspective of what might or might not be about a guitar none of us have ever handled.

There is a project that I want to do and I have one goddam question: does anyone know how to safely remove a fixed pole from a Tele bridge pickup?

That's it. It's a pickup site. This is the "Pickup Lounge", not guitar discussion. I don't mind expanding, but can we answer the fricken question first?

Now some people have been constructive and if everyone thinks that this is a disproportionate response, then fine, but I'm just sick of people on forums, especially guitarists, who have to just unload their "knowledge" on you instead of just being direct.

Between this and the invisible moderators, I'm done.

Thanks the the three decent people. F the rest of ya.

---

BTW: Because I do both: when I do sound work, I really defend guitarists to other sound engineers. But you know what, maybe it's clear the side I'm on. I'm an arrogant jerk, and guitarists ARE. THE. WORST.

Good riddance.

and thats the response.

he asked a question and people answered and it started a discussion as frequently happens on an internet forum. no one was attacking him. he blew up over people taking about the guitar he asked about. his question was answered...
does anyone know how to safely remove a fixed pole from a Tele bridge pickup?
the answer is there is no safe way to do it on a vintage style pup.

Re: More on Micawber--Help me dismantle my pickup?

the answer is there is no safe way to do it on a vintage style pup <- I've built over 30 yrs. ~ I get that

is that ruggie pic of Tom Arnold way b4 the coke ?

Re: More on Micawber--Help me dismantle my pickup?

not sure what ya mean by the last bit?

Re: More on Micawber--Help me dismantle my pickup?

There seems to be confusion. This is 'Micawber', one of Keith Richards' most famous guitars...

The more I look at this thing, the more I believe "KEEF" might have done his own work. Such a badly located "Brass Bridge Plate" that there probably aren't even any coil springs in it??? Either that, or Mr. Spock worked on it using "Stone Knives, and Bear Skins"!!!!

Your first post on this forum since your join date is to resurrect this 3 year old thread to make some ridiculous statement about the bridge plate being "badly located"? How is it badly located?

What do you mean by "coil springs"? Do you mean the springs around the height adjusting screws? What makes you think there aren't any?

As for the rest of what you said about Mr Spock....what the heck are you talking about?!
