Morley Wah Pedals

Hey all, I'm wondering what kind of tone you can get with the Tremonti Power Wah or the Morley Bad Horsie Wahs. I currently own a Crybaby 535Q and I'm not completely satisfied with it. I really dislike the switching and therefore I'm attracted by Morley's switchless design. I bought the Crybaby searching for Kirk Hammet's wah tone and have come close. I also like Mark Tremonti's wah tone. For those of you that own a Morley pedal, can you get close to both Hammet and Tremonti with it?

Re: Morley Wah Pedals

I have an original Bad Horsie, and I love it. That being said I don't think it would do a very good KH tone, not quite enough cut to it. One of the reasons that I really like it, besides the auto switching, is the smoother top end compared to my Dunlops. With my strat it is my go to wah. I really like the sound of my old Mr. Crybaby Super, though, with my LP Special. I'd recommend trying one out with your basic rig. BTW once you get used to the auto switching feature, it's hard to live without. Another thing, the buffer circuit in the Morley wahs, sounds really good.

The Morley pedals can be tweked to sound however you like them .

I have a Bad Horsie and to make a long story short, I had one ,then got another and it sounded differnt, it had too much high end to it.

I called Morley and the President Bill Wenzlof, talked me through the process and it was real easy, just a matter of turning a nut and adjusting the led .

I own a Bad Horsie II. The switchless design is very user friendly. It also has two modes - One is a more classic sounding wah tone, reminiscent of the original BH. A stomp of a switch takes you to an even more modern sounding wah. With proper tweaking of the sweep and depth controls, you have a wide range of wah tones at your disposal.

That said, I still find myself dusting off the old Crybaby from time to time. As versatile as the BH2 is, is doesn't do the Original Crybaby tone.

I wish I could comment on the Tremonti wah for you, but GC doesn't stick the thing for some reason.
