Mosrite copy-pickup wiring

Want to replace the two P90's in a Mosrite copy with a Duncan Custom SH5 in the bridge and a Phat Cat SPH90-1 in the neck.
The wiring diagrams for a 2 P90 setup with 1 volume and 1 tone show one way for the 4 wire connector SH5(to the switch) and a different way for the SPH90-1 single connector wire (to the pots).
How do I wire these 2 different pickups.... or should I stick with same type wire connection pickups?? 4 connector vs. single connector ??

Re: Mosrite copy-pickup wiring

All pickups, regardless of configuration, (series, parallel, split, 4-wire, 2-wire, out-of-phase), always end up with two wires.

So:

Make sense? :)

Re: Mosrite copy-pickup wiring

Yes it makes sense, but the Phat Cat wiring diagram shows to solder the braid to the back of the volume pot and the other wire to one of the volume spades. The switch is wired to the volume and tone spades.

The SH5 shows to ground to the back of the volume pot and the black wire to the 3 way switch. The switch is wired to the pickups.

Re: Mosrite copy-pickup wiring

The "hot" wire goes to the volume pot lug in a single-pickup configuration. If you have more than one pup, you have to go to a switch. So you can select which pup you want active. What's the actual pup configuration of your axe?

Re: Mosrite copy-pickup wiring

Two P90's with one volume control, one tone control and a 3-way toggle switch.

The Phat Cat wiring diagram.................

Re: Mosrite copy-pickup wiring

Ok, so for that diagram, on the bridge pup, bare and green go to the back of the pot. Red/white get soldered together and insulated. Black goes to the left-hand lug on the bridge volume pot.

I can do a diagram later. I'm dealing with the Superbowl and Kramersteen right now. :D

Re: Mosrite copy-pickup wiring

Wire to the pots then figure out how to wire to the switch from the pots???? Too complicated.... don't see a wiring diagram for that with 2 HB and 1 vol, 1 tone with 3 way switch........The Phat Cats out..........decided on the SH5 for the bridge and a SH2 for the neck. There's a diagram for that for this dummy...........:9:
