Re: most awesome full stack you saw

y'know all but one or two of those are fake, right?

Well, I'd say at least two are real, unless the mic's are fake ;)

Bahaa, you could kill a fully grown man by knocking that giant Crate stack over.

Nice groupies!!!

Whats with Geddy and washing machine and rotisseries? I could see it if they are covering the song Dirty Laundry... :naughty:

Ed's backlines have often been overkill.. Looks like 15 inch speakers in them.

I remember seeing Blackfoot way back and the had about 20 Marshall stacks behind them.. First time Id seen something like that so it was uber cool.

Geddy said he got tired of being upstaged by the stacks of guitar amps, his bass amp only takes up so much space hence the washing machines...

Re: most awesome full stack you saw

I recently asked Peter Stroud what his stage setup was and he stated that he was using an 18W & 22W amp. Stage volume is really not necessary any longer due to in'ear monitors. It keeps the volume down and preserves ones hearing! That typed..... Those Purple Marshall 900's look awfully cool!

Re: most awesome full stack you saw

Okay, not really stacks, but you could make A stack from these. Plus, they're super cool. Wish I would have bought one when they were all over eBay ten years ago. The ORANGE CRUNCH amps.

. . . ^ ^ ^ CRATE claims that is thee most powerfull head ever made, and thee (((LOUDEST))) stack ever made.

I think i want to believe them ;)

The most powerful tube amp ever made was a Peavey VTA800 w/8 6550's back in the 70's. Pretty much ensured the last thing you would ever hear was a very bad Peavey tone....

Not quite.

Peavey named it's amps after their peak power ratings. The 400 makes around 250 watts RMS power. The 800 makes 500 watts RMS and peaks at 800 watts. The 800 would have been the biggest right up to the Ampeg "Monster" SVT made in 1987.

The normal Ampeg SVT was rated at 300 RMS all day long. They peak at 700 watts. The gigantic "Monster" SVT stack I posted on page 2 ran two SVT power sections...12 6550 tubes...to make 600 watts RMS, which is a full 100 more than the Peavey.

Until Crate made the BV 600, the double SVT was, and for bass it still is, the most badass stack ever.
