It's true. The guy at the Big Box said so. I asked "What is your cheapest analog delay (don't ask...). And he explained that right over here we have some digital delays and that that was what most guys are using...

Wow. You guys need to get over the analog thing.

Finally, this issue has been put to rest. Maybe I can trade someone my Deluxe Memory Man for a DD-3.

Well that's good enough for me. I'm not even going to bother trying to sell mine, I think I'll just throw them away. So that's an AD-900, a Retro-Sonic and a couple of DM-2s in the bin. I am determined to use what most guys are using.

Does this mean I have to tear out the Bucket Brigade Chip in my Deja Vu?? I guess so, if I am going to drink this Kool Aid also. I know it will make one of the members happy in this forum if I do.

Where are those pliers?????

$#%^ thought I was done buying pedals. If my chorus is analog as well, should I dump that too?!?!?!?

I've had a DD3 on all 3 of my boards for a very long time. Works for me. I tried the AD 9 & didn't like it. The delay time was too short.

I'm ahead of all you fools. I never even bought an analog delay pedal. I knew they were inferior to my $80 multi-fx unit in the first place!!!1

It wasn't my intent to knock the DD-3. It was just the most recognizable digital delay I could think of. It definitely sounds better than many that are far more expensive.

I have album releasing delay. That beats digi, analogue and emulated delays I assume.

I've got new and old, expensive and inexpensive analog and digital pedals and I never thought anything about the innards just the sound that would come out of them. At some point in my 30+ years of playing someone planted the "It's got to be analog" seed in my head and now I've got a vast supply of analog pedals.
I find that both work well it just depends on the amps, guitars, live vs. studio, ect.
I just aquired a used Lovepedal Gen 5 Echo and I'm sure it's not analog but it's a great pedal, I'm glad I got it for 1/2 price.

:laughing: @ the original post --- those guys are always good for a facepalm

But, to be fair, I have played lots of delays, and my favorite one so far is the [cold, lifeless, modern, gimmicky, non-traditional, computerized] Line 6 Echo Park. Whaddyagonnado - it sounds the best.

I don't know... digital delay can be cool too... I like my Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai a whole lot.
