Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

Well, E and Dropped d are on there, but most of my other tunings arent, so I went w/ "other" ;)

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

I use a bunch of tunings. Mostly drop C, with the C sometimes down to an A. But there are variations of that all the time.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

There's no D-Standard.

I can use D standard, Eb Standard and E Standard. D gets a bit too doomish though. Eb just gives a really nice, rich tone, and E standard is, well, standard.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

Eb mostly

Standard on my acoustic with capo readily available

I occassionally mess around with other tunings, but usually just stay with what feels right to me.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

Standard on most material. I also slightly modified DADGAD and made my own tuning out of it and I have a D# rooted bastardized tuning.

I believe that the term "standard" preceeded by a letter other than E means "standard intervals".

That said, I voted "other". I'm all over the place.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

I spend most of my playing time in b and C and both aren't listed, so i chose other.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

Standard D most of the time. E is good, as some tunes just don't sound the same otherwise. D-drop-C, and E-drop-D is easy enough to adjust to.

My Epi Iommi sounds best at Eb, though. I think a lot of it has to do with each individual guitar.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

My main tuning is standard.

I also play in Eb and Drop D on occasion. Every once in awhile I will mess with some open tunings.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

I use 7 altered tunings... I have to have a text file on my PC to write them all down so I don't keep forgetting!

Also E standard + variants. I've got a guitar in D, C# and a 7 string which goes down to B also....

don't question it, it's the shiz for tunings

honestly i just found an awesome tuning just screwing around. because the 3rd and 2nd strings are matched tunings it sounds almost like a 12 string and is... interesting to solo with.

starting from low E
c-g-c-g-g-c

pretty sweet tuning, no?

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

Honestly use whatever works.

Most of my tunings have come about because I couldn't reach a specific note(/s) when trying to get a chord, so I retuned my guitar to facilitate that chord and worked around it....

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

Standard.
Eb sometimes, and occasionally F.
If you haven't tried F, go ahead, you just might like it.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

You forgot the open if front of "G ala Keef...", but that's what I generally use.

Re: Most Popular Tuning On SDUGF

I usually tune my guitar the same as a bass. It's really cool cuz I can get an awesome screamo/death metal fusion sound. My guitar sounds just like a bass!! My band's bass player is always jealous cuz I play lower than him.
