Most versatile Lace set?

Which of these sets is the best for a "do it all" Stratocaster?

I've never tried Lace, and I want to try a few at a time

Their descriptions are pretty accurate, but to really appreciate a Lace Sensor, you have to go into it with no expectations.

All 3 of those sets are highly regarded, but the Ultimate probably sells the most. Image a P90 in the neck, 70s single coil in the middle, and a hot humbucker in the bridge. Now take two steps to the left. That's what the Ultimate sounds like.

A full set of Hot Golds is also pretty popular. That's in the same zip code as the Duncan SSL-1 sound in the neck and middle with a slightly hotter bridge.

What types of pickups do you usually like?

Also I've considered before an HSH setup with a Purple/Emerald in the neck, a Hot Gold in the middle, and a Red/Blue in the bridge.

But that might be overkill

some people love lace pups, ive never been one of em. they arent bad, and the custom set of hot gold donzo gave me years ago are damn good, but i tend to prefer the traditional designs for my blues/rock wanking

H-S-S, I'd get all crazy with Alumitone singles. And a Deathbucker in the bridge.

Honestly, the old Gold set, as you can always boost the signal after the fact.
