Mr. Bogner hooked me up!

Much thanks to Reinhold and York, who I met at The Amp Show.

A week ago, after over a decade of zero problems from my 94 Ecstasy, it started overheating and shutting down, even with tubes glowing. Another local tech jipped me, and the amp was still having the same problem. So I finally took it to the Bogner Custom Shop in North Hollywood, knowing I didn't have any original receipt and would probably be charged a premium.

A few days ago at the Amp Show, when nobody else was in the room, I explained my dilemma, and impressed upon them how much I've used my Ecstasy, how I'm planning on getting an Alchemist, and how many people I've turned onto the company.....who ended up purchasing Bogners. Reinhold and York were glad to hear my comments, and said "if your amp is there now, we'll take care of you for free."

So, I got a call from Charlie telling me they rebuilt the power regulator section, changed a capacitor, and biased the amp, and it's ready to pick up.
He also said Reinhold called him Monday morning and told him to honor the warranty and give him a T Shirt too.

:dance::headbang:

Then, I asked him if the rumour was true about Bogner making bicycles!!! ha

:biglaugh:

Re: Mr. Bogner hooked me up!

That's way cool. You had more bad luck with local techs? Crappy. I already told myself if I was having problems with my 101B I'd take it to Bogner first. I wouldn't trust most people who call themselves techs with an amp like this.

Re: Mr. Bogner hooked me up!

That's awesome!

Is Reinhard as weird in person as he looks on the pictures? He looks like a really twisted version of Paul Gilbert or something. :D

Re: Mr. Bogner hooked me up!

That's good of them. Reinhold strikes me as someone who isn't the typical money-grabbing arsehole. He could've easily said "it's not our problem, you'll have to pay a tech".

BTW- Did you ask for 10% commission for the amps people have bought directly from your recc's? Lol.

He's very eccentric, almost like a character from a children's book or something.
It's hard to tell if he gets his clothes at used clothing stores, or if they're expensive ones he had made at a tailor.

He works really hard at what he does, but he also appears to be a guy who likes to party and have fun....and HATES to talk shop when he's not working, from what I've heard from his employees.

Standing next to him makes any person feel fat.....the guy is literally 6'4" and has a 28" waist. And he's got a cool German accent. He speaks perfect English, but the accent makes him even more like a character.

Love it when the good companies take care of their users...

Such a RARE thing these days.

Re: Mr. Bogner hooked me up!

you forgot to tell the part about "after 10 years, it's time you bought a new one!" :D

I'm impressed they actually came through though -- pretty cool, Mr. BognerJoneser. :)

That's what you SHOULD get, but you don't always get. It's cool to hear Bogner as a company is pretty awesome. If I can ever afford it, I totally want one!!!

It's a fun amp to play. The clean channel is great, the gain channel has a lot of range, and onboard reverb and delay make it a revolutionary design. It'll be cool for playing at low volume, with some reverb and delay to give it some ambience.

When you get yours, you should buy a new Alchemist T Shirt. It's a cool shade of light cobalt blue and says Alchemist on the front and Bogner on the back.

Re: Mr. Bogner hooked me up!

Did you talk to him about making some bright orange or green amps? Those colors tend to sound really good.

Re: Mr. Bogner hooked me up!

Very cool GJ! Glad to hear that Reinhold Bogner hooked you up. You have done your bit as unofficial Bogner salesman, so I think he really did the right thing both on your behalf and his own. He kept his biggest cheerleader happy and I think that is good business right there. Of course, it's good business all the way around to keep your customers happy.
