Muddiest Pickup

Hello, I just received my Invader today, and, I really like it, but I didn't find it muddy...

So is there a muddier pickup out there from your experiences?

Tone Zone with Alnico 5? (which I've never tried)

By ear, I thought the Custom 5 sounded quite heavy on the Audio Samples page too.

Thank you!

Are you looking for a muddy pup? Because some of the stock BC Rich pups are muddy!

Hi, yeah I am!

That's very possible, my friend has a cheap BC Rich and his sounded bright though :)

Oh, maybe not finally, since my friend plays with his amp cranked up on treble...

^ that was what came to mind for me, too. in my case i think the guitar in question was a dog, but i did think of that same pickup

That was the only thing I didn't like about my mockingbird. a Bill Lawerence xl500 and Jazz later , no more mud, just thud.

Yeah, I hated my neck pickup too... some neck pickups choices are really wierd sometimes... especially for the neck, which is a more delicate decision than the bridge, for me...

Stock Epiphone neck pu (ceramic). Like the tone is perpetually rolled off.

!!!

I like the way Epiphones sound... they sound really smooth!

Yea I'll atest to the muddy BC Rich thing. I had an inport Mockingbird and those pups were pure blanket over the cabinet woof tone.
