Muddy neck

[Danglin' Fury]

I have a Basswood Dean ML Undertaker w/ a Distortion(b) and '59. The distortion is a RAGING metal tone beast! The '59 sounds great clean but tends to mud up when distorted. Any suggestions on a pickup that gets a nice clean tone but doesn't sound like a mudbomb when distorted? Anyone?:nervous:

Jazz neck or full shred neck ( for clean Jazz is probably better )

JAZ or FUll SHRED.. What music u play Dude.. I gues I wld go with A full Shred ..

Lower the polepiece under the low E-string and you'll be surprised how much of that mud goes away.

Get an alnico 2 neck pickup like the Pearly Gates or Alnico II Pro. Less bass from alnico 2 = less mud.

Also, try turning up the midrange and turn down the bass on your amp.

Alot of guys use WAY, WAY to much bass.
