Muddy Waters Telecaster?

Anybody have any feedback about this guitar? I was really bummed that I couldn't find a single Fender tele that met my specifications, until I found this baby.

I really like them...what are your specs? I love the tone of strats and teles...but have a hard time finding one that I really like. What are you looking for?

I wanted...

Ash body
Rosewood neck
9.5 radius
Medium-jumbo frets
Staggered A5 bridge

It would have been perfect if it had a top-loader bridge, steel saddles, and a thin finish, but I wasn't about to spend twice as much money for those little things.

I played the muddy waters and really liked it I dont know how it sounds but i really liked the neck and how it played it felt like a solid guitar

what about a Highway One...I know it's alder but they are great guitars. The MW Tele has a 9.5 radius???

Unfortunately, the alder is a deal-breaker for me, plus I can get a new MW tele for about $100 less than the HW1's. Yep, the MW has a 9.5 radius! :)

Re: Muddy Waters Telecaster?

Well you know Mud sounded pretty good with his.

I almost bought one about a year or so ago. It had a horrible setup and the finsh on the neck was not for me but I imagine if you reliced it a bit and got a pro setup it would be pretty good. If I remember the one I played had real tall skinny frets which probably lead me to think the setup was worse than it probably was.

skinny frets are worse than skinny women

Jump on it! They are killer guitars, I have not played one in a while...but I remember being REAL impressed!

Re: Muddy Waters Telecaster?

I have read nothing but rave reviews on those...go for it!

Re: Muddy Waters Telecaster?

I really liked the one I played. Not a real desert Island tele, but like all the vintage-style mexican guitars, a great workingman's guitar. looks good too.
