Does anybody know how to extract all the sounds in an 11 channel WAV file into 11 seperate Mono WAV files?

Re: Multi channel WAV files

It'd be nice to separate mixed audio tracks, but it can't be done. Those 11 tracks have been mixed down to one stereo track.

However, if the file in question is a .MOD, then a program like MODPlugTracker can divide them up.

Re: Multi channel WAV files

if youre talking about a file that isnt already mixed down into stereo then yeah its possible

Re: Multi channel WAV files

I didn't know .WAV came in any more channels than two. Doing something like that would be like expecting Adobe Photoshop to seperate the layers in a .jpg or trying to pull fly droppings out of a bowl of rice while wearing a boxing glove.

Actually there is a wave format that supports multiple tracks for 5.1 surround mixes( DTS wav)...But I don't think that's what the poster meant.

Re: Multi channel WAV files

I have DTS encoded floyd albums that are in Wav format. They will only play in a 5:1 capable player.[software or hardware]

You don't mean Multi channel "Bundle" files you can make with Cubase and Sonar and others,do you?:cool2:

I love it when people disappear from a thread and don't provide any details. It just makes the internet so much fun.

Re: Multi channel WAV files

Me and Goose did it. I've got a picture of Goose flipping me the bird to prove it.

Sorry, havent been home to post. I dont think its 11 channels now, looks like its the 5.1 surround sound WAVS, Im trying to extract all the hits inside the BFD samples.

Anyway, cool edit pro does it, figured it out, thanks.
