Multi Meter reading in install

I just installed a set on Antiquity Texas Hot Strat pickups. The tags had the following DC resistance: 6.44 neck, 6.54 middle & 10.07 bridge
When reading from the end of a three foot patch chord i am getting the following readings: 6.05 neck, 6.24 middle & 9.4 bridge. From what I read there should be a little bit lower reading when wired up in guitar but is this normal or did I mess something up....thanks!

Tags aside, try to get readings from the p/u leads first?! If the tags are correct, are all the controls up?

Resistance varies with ambient temperature. A 1k difference in resistance readings is not a cause for alarm.

Ok....I just wanted to make sure it wasn't caused by a cold solder joint or something I did wrong. Thanks for the reply.

A cause for alarm is staring at idsnowdog's avatar for more than an hour. 30 to 40 minutes is ok.

Re: Multi Meter reading in install

After thinking about it and setting aside the meter readings. (this weekend I'll take a reading right from the pickup lead as suggested above) I think that the sound that I am not completely satisfied with may be the wiring. I used some silver wiring that I had laying around. I remember a few years back I rewired a guitar with the same silver wiring and ended up re-wiring that guitar with normal threaded wire. With the silver wiring it gave the guitar a nasal, pinging type of tone in the mid-range. After using normal wire the guitar was back to sounding the way I liked it. Does anyone here have any expierence with the silver wire? Just curious....Hopefully by reading these forums we can prevent someone from making the same mistakes. I am going to rewire the guitar this weekend and report back.
