Hey im in the market right now for some sort of multi-track recorder and these 3 seem to tickle my fancy

ZOOM MRS 4
Zoom PS-04
Tascam Pocketstudio 5

no anolog there because i want versatility so i can put it on pc portability and also the low cost factor..

Do any of you guy have any experience or stuff with theese or know of any other good ones, preferrably digital..

Thanks Alot.....

Re: multi-track recorders ?!!???

A friend of mine just got the PS-04 online w/power supply for $200. He loves it! I prefer my Korg PXR4.

Re: multi-track recorders ?!!???

Thanks, although looking closer at the ps 04 it doesnt seem as capable as the other two, from what i can see anyways the Tascam has more funcionability than the mrs4..

anyone else have views on them or any other recorder?

Re: multi-track recorders ?!!???

Ok well i'm assuming then no-one here has much experience with multi-track recorders so i think i'm gonna go for a secong hand boss br 864 instead of the smaller digital ones because its proboly a better long-term investment aswell..

Thanks Twilight and xerxes

Re: multi-track recorders ?!!???

Hey, sorry I didn't see this thread sooner!

I have the Tascam Pocketstudio 5. It's got great recording quality and is really easy to use. You can listen to my clips in my signature below to see what I mean. It DOES get pretty limiting after a while. It only has 4 tracks to record with, no virtual tracks.
I would go with a Boss if you need virtual tracks, but if you need no more than 4 tracks, go with the Tascam, it's great.

Actually I do, it's just that mine costs about 5 times as much as the one's you're looking at, therefore I didn't answer because I didn't think you wanted to get in that price range.

Hay guys thanks,

didn't mean to sound like i'd lost faith in you guys, and i see where you're comin from jolly not to worry...

I think my best bet is then the Boss BR-864 second hand on fleabay or something...

No-One heres selling one no??

Thanks guys..

Re: multi-track recorders ?!!???

Hi Stevo; I know this goes against all your prerequisites, but I use a couple of multi-track recorders:

Adobe Audition: digital, and versatile - but expensive.

Teac 2340 4-track reel-to-reel: medium to expensive, but analog tape is to recording, what "tubes" are to guitar amps.

Here's a couple of eBay examples:

Tascam 34B

Teac A-3340S

The last one is the same I use, but it takes 15 inch reels, and runs at 15 ips. (much better)
