muse gear question

ok guys...my brother has been bugging me to help him get a tone, I listened to the song today and I am stumped...does anybody here know what the bass player from Muse uses to get that funky synth/fuzz bass tone?

*thinks* bass is always hard to pin down

time is running out was two big muffs in serial
citizen erased *sounds* like a light envelope filter

the band in general are associated with black made-in-russia big muffs, but matts fuzz factory turns up everywhere

EDIT - on second listening, most of origin of symmetry's bass effects sound like light fuzz + light envelope filter or auto wah..

and none of the sites on the web look at dom's gear :smack:
