Music Man SUB 5 string pickup replacement?

Are there any straight-swap pups out there for a 5?

On the duncan site, those 5's won't fit, the agular says won't fit. Don't want EMG's or Bartolini (I want exposed poles)

The Custom Shop can build one, or you can have your current pickup rewound to your specs, which would be cheaper.

Duncan makes a 5 string mm pup the mounting is just different. Couldn't tell ya why. They do sound great though! I've built two bassee with them

That's the thing, would be looking for a straight swap. Man, I've been playing bass for a 100 years, this SUB feels like a million bucks.....for 3 c notes :lol: Had to file the fret edges and give the baby-treatment to get the kinks out, but I'm blown away.

I have an older USA-built SUB1 guitar, and it is a fantastic instrument.

So now it's about what I want to do about the preamp. Definitely needs to be a volume/treb/bass but do I need one....prewired.....which one......thoughts, I must make

Not to many of us on here unfortunately. A lot of these guys are hobbyists that play blues, classic rock, some punk, and metal too. Not many djenters here.



As for the question, you could always just get a new pick guard as well. Pickguard Heaven sells them specifically for our basses, and I'm gonna try to get one this summer and drop an SD in there along with a new EQ.

I ordered the Nordstrand setup. It cost as much as the bass :lol:

Should be here in a couple of weeks. Really excited because it's staggered poles, which will be a god-send for this bass ( the B and the G are both a little hot currently regardless of setting)

Mincer, you should get your buds to do a quick-swap for a 5 (since you have the 4)

Just wanted to be sure. I'm sure they would have refunded you or allowed you to exchange if you made a mistake, but its good that you don't have to.

It happens man. I waited 4 weeks for a set of pickups from Bareknuckle. Well worth the time though.

They're here! But it will be tomorrow (hopefully, I think it will be cool enough) to get them installed.
