Hughes & Kettner!

For a company so deep in the poop you think GC/MF would at least try to expand on sales to try to bring up their revenue. Or maybe the loss on the profits would only hurt their bottom line even more.

I think I figured out D'Addario and Ernie Ball are two valid brands I could use.

it's usually those brands themselves that refuse to participate in the discount and the company has no right in making decisions like that though

Normally, those are the companies whose marketing agreements won't allow published prices for their products discounted below certain levels. My experience has been that you can't buy products from those manufacturers using the automated system with dicount coupon code applied, but if you phone in the order to customer service the reps will make it happen. That has been my experience without exception.

Interesting. I thought GC had more leverage in their negotiations.

Manufacturers are pretty strict holding the line on MAP. Looks like there are varying definitions of what MAP is, leading to the discrepancy.

Exactly. By contract, they can't publish 15% discounts on those brands...but they can actually sell them for whatever they want. Call up to get the discount.

FWIW, stacking coupons is a great way to get new pickups online, as pickup brands are usually not on the exclusion list. But it seems like in the past few years, it has become harder to get coupons to stack. At one point a few years ago, I got a 15% off, a 10% off, and some other deal (I think some percentage off orders over $200) to stack, and ended up with a set of Seths for something like $140.
