Mustaine Livewires No Output!

Hey folks

My buddy bought this used guitar with two Mustaine's wired in the following configuration:

It was not working, and so he gave it to me to repair. Duct tape-secured joints! Certainly, I thought this would be the only problem, but after wiring everything up according to the above wiring diagram and triple checking myself, I still can't get this thing to make a sound. I even took a signal tracer and followed the circuit all the way back to the pickups, retaining signal along the way up to and including the switch.

The only anomaly is that this guitar has three 25k pots

I hope you folks can offer some advice as to what I might be missing. Could you tell me how to test these pickups to determine if they are perhaps broken? I have tried multiple 9v batteries as well for the record haha.

Thanks!

I do notice that I have 9vDC on my tip as well as my sleeve...

Not used to active pickups, is that normal?

Can you post a pic of what you have now? Maybe one of us can spot an obvious problem. I am not an active pickup expert but many here are.

I figured it out. The little pin connectors at the pickup had been removed while I was rewiring it. I hadn't realized that these pickups had connectors like this, and am used to them being hardwired like most passives, so I didn't even think to look there when I had my first problem! I had to re-do my wiring with a little splicing joints together and some heat shrink but it all works now and is super sturdy. Now I just have to figure out how to mount a 9v batter holder in this cavity!
