Hi Guys,

I am saving up my chump change for a new fuzz pedal,

I am deciding between the two,

MXR M-173 Classic 108 Fuzz vs Zvex Mastotron

1) The Mastotron is more versatile, but Can you get a Classic Fuzz tone ala Fuzzface with the Mastotron ?

2) Does anyone know if the Mastotron fuzz produce the annoying Oscillation when paired with a Dunlop 535Q Crybaby Wah ? (Time to Email Zvex) :D

3) Yeah I know there completely different pedals....... and I could just buy one of them and return it if I am not fully satisfied and get the other fuzz pedal, but for those who tried both pedals, Which do you prefer ?

Thanks

Actually...as wacky as the Mastotron is at it's core it is a silicon Fuzz Face!!!!

It takes some tweaking but you can get a very good Si Fuzz Face impression out of the Mastotron.

Also worth mentioning...one of the big selling points of the MXR is the buffer that will let you use it after a stock wah pedal...with thed source impedence control on the Mastotron you can also use it after a stock wah pedal!

Of the 2 I think i'd get the Mastotron...

I'm considering the 108 myself. Zvex's pedal layout alone makes them a NON option for me.
