It was either a 72 or a 74- I don't remember which.

I've spent a good portion of today playing, and amazingly, all of it on the EB-0. This thing is just SO easy to play. As I'm playing around with Rolling Stones songs, I figure I could do the mute thing, sort of like how I did it on the T-Bird:

I cut off a section of the foam wristpad- but it was too thick. I cut off a bit of that, then it was too thin. I was able to get it packed in underneath the strings and on the bridge plate- and it sounds pretty cool.

I'm seriously considering playing this one out on Friday.

Good idea/bad idea?

In their stock forms... The EB-0 plays better, but the Rick sounds better.

I could never get the Rick to sound how I imagine a Rick to sound (like Chris Squire, but "bigger"). It's uncomfortable, the bridge tore my hand up and it balanced goofy.

If I could have gotten the bass to sound right I probably could have dealt with most everything else just because it looks so doggone cool- but the bass does what it does. I had it for 6 years and really tried to like it- I had hoped it would have grown on me, or that I would finally figure it out. It didn't and I didn't.

Lots of sweet vintage basses dude. an EB-0 and a 4000 would fill out my bass stable perfectly.

Doing this Stones "tribute" thing has got me wondering how an EB-2 would sound. I loved that EB-2 in the pic above. It was the first thing I bought with my bonus check when I got out of Basic Training. I had this government issued check for $5,000- went to the store and saw that. Uncle Bob's Music in Milwaukee. I bought the bass, and they gave me cash back... 18 years old with around $4.5K in my pocket... I wasted a lot of money that trip home on leave...
